Jack and Sheri Thomas
In 2003, our family arrived in Mexico to serve as missionaries through The International Mission Board, and began an experience filled with unspeakable blessings!
The Lord began working in our lives, and preparing us to follow His call, years before we could have imagined where His call would lead us. As a military family life mandated we move often, and we fully believe that God strategically placed us in each of our assignments as He worked in our lives and our hearts, showing us the great need for laborers to reach out to the lost of our world. He taught us to love the people and the areas where we lived and to see the world through their eyes and hearts.
After Jack retired from the military, Sheri’s work as an Accountant took our family to St. Louis, Missouri. While members of First Baptist Church of Arnold, Missouri the opportunities to participate in international and local missions were plentiful. Through each of these opportunities, the desire in our hearts “To Go” grew stronger, and each time we returned home, we had a clearer understanding of God’s will for our lives. God called us to follow Him in faith, to leave behind what we considered “ours” and trust in Him. He promised to equip us, care for us, and provide for us; He has never failed.
We served with The International Mission Board in Mexico until 2010 and currently serve as Church Planters and Trainers through The Timothy Project. The Timothy Project, is a faith based organization dedicated to reaching the lost of Central East Mexico; an area known as “The Heart of Darkness”.
Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. … Whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” John 12:24; Matthew 10:39
